Pumpkin carving fun

My girls and I carved our pumpkins. We use to buy the kits and we have all the tools this year we just free hand carved and my oldest drew hers all by herself, she wanted old school style. For years we did these extravagant pumpkins but now we have gone basic but still family fun and girl bonding for my daughters and I. I always go all out on the holidays decorating, baking all the old fashioned stuff carving pumpkins, dying eggs etc.

Happy Halloween everyone enjoy our photos of our pumpkins.

Material Girl Phantom Nail Polish

I was shopping at TJ Maxx and grabbed 3 of the Material Girl nail polishes. The bottles look just like Butter London so figured I had to try them cause I love Butter London polishes.

They were only $2.99 a bottle and out of the three I got I swatched Phantom tonight with some other polishes I grabbed while there. Let me tell you they had a huge selection from many designer brands but honestly I have so many polishes right now I am holding out for must haves only.

Phantom is black with gold and orange sparkles in it. It went on smooth and was very nice consistency. I applied two coats over Butter London nail foundation base coat. I love it and it's amazing quality definitely compares to Butter London and OPI.

I followed the polish with my all time favorite top coat Poshe. If you haven't tried this top coat and are a loyal Seche fan please try this out. I have some mini bottles to giveaway in upcoming giveaways. It literally dries super fast, great coverage, no shrinkage like Seche and is not super thick like Seche. It makes my nails last long and look super shiny. I don't have much time to paint my nails yet alone wait for them to dry with two kids and a lot of things going on non stop. Highly recommend this top coat also love Out The Door too:).

Enjoy the photos and if you go to TJ Maxx look for Material Girl polishes they are worth $2.99 for sure best priced best quality polish for price I have seen.

Orly and Color Club Swatches

I decided to try out my deals from TJ Maxx yesterday. Didn't have a lot of time to prep and polish so just swatched a few for tonight then after trying out five colors I decided to go with Material Girl Phantom. I will feature photos of that and details in next post.

Yesterday I got a mini four pack of Color Club polishes for $3.99 I believe threw out the box. I swatched two they don't have names or numbers which is odd I grabbed box and they are the In True Fashion collection and they were $4.99. No names still. The one on my thumb looks like a iridescent gold/green color. On my nail it looked gold with a slight green tone when I moved it around. The other color I sampled was a rust metallic color which was my favorite of the two. I have two other colors a dark blue and a purple, green iridescent color almost like Hard Candy, Beetle. I will sample those when my nails chip.

Then last up was the two Orly colors. I got Emberstone and Stone Cold. Both gorgeous. I love the glitter look and they both applied very nice. Emberstone looks orange in the bottle but on my nails had a pink look to it but lately I been wondering if I'm a little color blind lol. Things never seem to be what they appear lol.

I will post more photos of my full manicure with Material girl Phantom. That is on my ring finger and I loves it that I decided to go with that color. The Orly polishes were $3.99 a bottle at TJ Maxx. I rarely buy anything full price so not sure how much they are normally I believe about $8-9 a bottle depending on where you shop.

Enjoy the photos and have a wonderful weekend. Have lots of clothing deals and steals. Got shoes, a purse, a few dresses then a lot of cute sweater tops and long sleeve tops for me and my daughters along with jeans for my little one and all at amazing low prices. My favorite part of living in south Florida is that this time of year they clearance out shorts, tanks, sandals and summer clothes which we live in pretty much year round unless we have a cool front. I hear we have one coming behind this storm. Can't wait for sweaters, scarves and boots! Yay.

Bought my fall brown boots.

After much seeking and trying on I finally decided on the brown Guess boots. I ended up getting a pair at TJ Maxx that had a few small scratches that I would end up doing anyways for $59.99.

I love them and have to say I tried on a lot. Ended up going for a name brand cause I don't like pleather and vinyl.

Nail polish finds at TJ Maxx

I was looking for my boots and stumbled upon some nail polish. I recently got some color club polishes from Birchbox and liked them so when I saw all the color club polishes got a mini pack. It's called In True Fasion and was $4.99 for four mini bottles they had huge sets for 9.99 full size bottles from holiday glitter to summer neons but didn't need all that.

I also grabbed two Orly colors Emberstone and Stone Cold. Then I saw the Material Girl polishes, bottle looks like Butter London those were $2.99 each and I grabbed Labyrinth, Phantom and Guilty Conscience. Will swatch them all later.

Also if you have little girls a lot of Justice for Girls stuff at TJ Maxx. Summer stuff like tanks, t shirts and shorts on clearance then new jeans and sweaters in for way below retail. Stocked up for my little one cause rumor has it next week around Halloween it may actually cool off here after this tropical storm mess going on now.

Stay dry if you are down south in Florida otherwise have a good weekend:).

Pink Wednesday with Joby Nail Decals

I tried two of the amazing easy to apply Joby Nail Art Decals. I used my tweezers and removed them from backing then applied to dry nail. I made sure to press down then applied and coat of Posche top coat. These are so cute and easy to apply.

I will be ordering more for sure and this weekend going to use on a lighter less flashy color. Was bored with just the plain color so these made them look more interesting.

I recommend these for sure. I have used similar products I got for my daughter and they never were this easy to apply and basically seamless once you apply top coat. Used my micro lense but the glitter in polish interfered a little. Will post a better color and Mani this weekend for sure:)

Color is OPI Skyfall You Only Live Twice a bright almost hot pink with holo glitter shine. Love the polish. Nail decals are Joby nail art decals.

Opi Skyfall and German swatching

I got these two colors in a swap love them, OPI Skyfall, The Spy Who Loved me is the red version of my favorite You Only Live Twice. Very pretty and goes on nice, just swatched so no base or top coat.

Up next OPI German collection, Suzi & the 7 Dusseldorfs. I love purple and this is a pretty shade but not a must have. Again no base or top coat. Trying to get some swatches in planning on some Zoya ornate collection, my favorite is Storm and then OPI burlesque collection. Lots of glitter and shimmer:).

Enjoy the pics

Pink Wednesday with OPI Skyfall and Zoya Lara

I used opi you only live twice with a quick bow from reckon stencils. I used zoya Lara but wasn't dark enough. Probably going to do something different later but feeling a little under the weather.

Last night at boxing got sick to stomach and think I have a 24 hr virus. I got some cute tops at Marshall's today and almost got some opi and color club polishes but don't need any polishes right now. Excited cause my favorite beauty supply store is going me a few display stands and then said they would see how much the plastic wall ones they use for manicure station cost. I love A-Daz-L they are so friendly and always have what I want:).

Happy Wednesday almost the weekend!!

OPI Skyfall and DS series long awaited swatches

Tonight I had time to swatch some OPI plan on getting to the Zoya and Julep shortly.

First thing was OPI Every Month is Oktoberfest from the German collection, I mentioned a grabbed a China Glaze polish called Heart of Africa, at store after purchase thought wow that kinda looks like Oktoberfest by OPI but once I got home I saw OPI is more a purple burgundy and the Africa China Glaze is more of a rust with some reds in it.

I sampled two more of the Skyfall in addition to Tomorrow Never Dies, the blue shade I used my man with the golden gun 18K gold top coat with first swatch. I also sampled On Her Majesty's Secret Service, which is a gray with some green and silver sparkle. Nice glitter polish. Enjoyed that one but I thought that Tomorrrow Never Dies was my favorite until I out on OPI You Only Live Twice from the Skyfall line also! This is gorgeous. Almost a deep pink with a slight red and lots of sparkle/shimmer. I love this color and can not capture the true beauty of it at night with my awful lighting. Tomorrow I will post some daylight and fluorescent shoots to see if the look more like the color. It is gorgeous! I am wearing it for pink Wednesday I think:).

I also broke into my OPI Desinger Series. These have been amazing in the past with gorgeous glitter and holographic colors like diamond dust and sapphire but these seem to be just glitter polishes with a silver lid. Not too impressed. I do like the DS Mystery which is the dark brownish/black with gold glitter. Very cool color and I like dark shades.

Next up was DS Glow which I sampled before I think when I got it which is a glitter almost holo but since I started wearing some of the England and Hits holos doesn't have same wow effect. It's pretty much a sparkly very glittery gold. Glow is a good name. Last of all was the most disappointing to me of the DS swatches I did which was DA Jewel. I applied three coats and it's very sheer still. Had a kind of blah look to it almost a brown rust burgundy. Wasn't to sure. Didn't apply a top coat maybe that would add some shine.

That's my fun for tonight with polish. Tomorrow have some of the burlesque collection, Zoya Ornate and some more winter collections coming out and my pink Wednesday. I also will by the end of the week sample the owl Joby mail art decals thinking that will be my weekend manicure then have some reckon skull stencils for Halloween with some cool Julep Halloween colors including their glow in the dark formula which I have sample but want to get a good night shot of for you:). Enjoy the photos and again sorry blogging from my iPhone so can't label each photo like I want to will go back on laptop and try to update for you all so you know which is which:). Happy mid week! Excited weekend is almost here again and Halloween, love taking my girls trick or treating. Feel blessed to have such amazing daughters:)

Good night

Melissa

Wow logged onto laptop and saw not only how out of shuffle the photos are from when I took them and even the order I posted them, but them how awful some look.  Working on using my new 3 in 1 lense for the iphone and asked Santa for a new nice high quality camera for Christmas.  Let me first say sorry for bad quality of photos then I did this late so didn't put top coats or clean up any messes on cuticles just wanted to try colors.

Above is the You Only Live Twice, gorgeous pink glitter I am going to try to capture in daylight tomorrow

Above is the China Glaze Heart of Africa

Here is the Heart of Africa next to OPI Oktoberfest which you can see OPI is more purple and the China Glaze is more burgubdy/rust color, love them both=)

Above is DS Glow

This is the Skyfall color Her Majesty's Secret Service

This is OPI DS Jewel

Think I got them all in order now lol, it's late.  Off to watch the rest of Son's of Anarchy and got to bed long day tomorrow=).  Happy polishing.  More samples and swatches to come promise.  Looking forward to some winter collections and nail art.
